The Bold 20 backpack is made with a high-density water-repellent (DWR) fabric, making it extremely weather-resistant.
The nylon fabric wicks away water, preventing the bag from becoming heavy or waterlogged during your hike.
Rain and splash resistant, the Bold 20 is designed to protect your belongings and electronics from showers, drizzle, and splashes.
However, it is not a waterproof bag designed for immersion or kayaking.

The Bold 20 is an ultralight pack designed for high-performance activities. While its high-density ripstop fabric is extremely durable, comfort remains the priority.
For the best “second-skin” feel during trail running or hiking, we recommend a total load of 9 to 13 lbs (approx. 4–6 kg).
Optimized weight distribution: With dual side pockets and shoulder strap storage, you can shift some weight to the front, improving stability and reducing bounce.
Make the most of its modular design: Use the front bungee cord system to secure lightweight bulky items (like a wet jacket or helmet), freeing up internal space without affecting balance.
The pack can handle more, but going over 18 lbs (8 kg) may reduce back ventilation and increase shoulder pressure over longer distances.
Example: the 2L bladder, snacks, your phone, a light shell jacket, and a small repair kit will keep you right in the sweet spot for comfort and performance.

The 2L hydration bladder is made of high-quality, BPA-free PEVA, but to maintain its longevity, here are the golden rules:

• The Best Choice is Pure Water. Keeping it to fresh water is the best way to ensure zero maintenance issues and a perfect taste every time. You can add ice cubes thanks to the wide-mouth opening for summer hikes!
• Temperature Limits. The bladder is designed for temperatures between -20°C and 50°C (-4°F to 122°F). It’s perfect for cold water or lukewarm tea, but never use boiling water.
• Isotonic & Electrolyte Drinks. You can use sports powders or electrolytes. We highly recommend rinsing the bladder and the tube with warm soapy water immediately after your session to prevent any residue or "sugar-stick" effect.
• Avoid Milk & Sugary Juices. These promote rapid bacterial growth in the tube and are very difficult to clean.
• No Alcohol & Carbonated Drinks. Alcohol can degrade the PEVA material over time. The pressure from CO2 can cause leaks.
• No Strong Acids. Avoid putting pure lemon juice or vinegar inside.
  
  Our Tip: we recommend using the bladder for pure water only and keeping your energy drinks in a separate bottle in one of the side mesh pockets. This keeps your main hydration system clean and mold-free for years!

To keep your hydration system fresh and mold-free, follow these advices. Here is the maintenance guide:

• After every hike, rinse with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap.
• Once a month or if you used electrolytes: Deep Clean. Use a mix of water with a tablespoon of baking soda or a specific cleaning tablet. Let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
• Don't forget the hose! The Tube is Vital... Run soapy water through it and, if possible, use a small tube brush (snake brush) to clear any residue.
• The Golden Rule: Perfect Drying. Never store a damp bladder. Use a drying rack, a kitchen whisk, or clean paper towels inside to keep the bladder walls separated so air can circulate.
• Dry it in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight (which can degrade the PEVA material) and heat sources like radiators.
• The Storage Hack: Once perfectly dry, it's possible to store your empty bladder in the freezer. This 100% prevents any bacterial growth between two outings!

Yes. Even with pure water, your hydration system needs a "rinse and dry" after every trip. Here's the explanation:

• Small amounts of bacteria from your mouth, or dust particles from the air, can enter the tube through the valve.
• Also, water left in a closed, dark environment is a breeding ground for invisible biofilm.
• The Routine: If you only used water, no need for a deep scrub! Just rinse it with fresh water, run some through the tube, and—most importantly—hang it open to dry completely. If it's not 100% bone-dry, don't store it.
• If you're exhausted or don't have time to clean up when you get back: empty the water bladder and put it directly in the freezer. The cold will instantly stop any growth. You can do a proper clean the next day!

1. Remove the protective cap from the mouthpiece.
2. Inside the soft mouthpiece, you'll feel a small, central white piece. This acts as the "orifice" for the water. Place the soft silicone mouthpiece between your front teeth.
3. Gently bite down to activate the valve and start the water flow.
4. Release to stop— the valve automatically seals, preventing leaks or drips.
