Designed for changing mountain conditions, the Lanshan 4-Season 2-Person Tent combines ultralight performance with reliable protection for confident nights on the trail. Built to handle wind, cold, and unpredictable weather, its solid inner provides enhanced warmth and comfort in both winter and summer high-altitude nights. The 20D silpoly rainfly minimizes sagging in wet weather, absorbs less moisture, and maintains its shape throughout the night. Its trekking-pole setup minimizes weight and allows for compact packing in your backpack.

Note: Trekking poles are sold separately. To ensure maximum waterproof performance in prolonged rain, we recommend seam sealing the fly before your first trip. A compatible silicone seam sealer is available in our bundled kits.

Requires seam sealing, and I’d recommend getting the footprint to protect the bottom of the tent. Plenty of room inside and feels surprisingly spacious for two people.

Derrick A.

It's lightweight, the material is good quality.

Amazing quality and impressively lightweight. The Lanshan performs exactly as expected and is perfect for long-distance backpacking. I ordered the Morning Mist Gray version — the color was slightly darker than I expected, but that doesn’t bother me at all. Can’t wait to take it out on the trail.

Jocelyn H.

Nice tent, very good. I can't wait to use it! Thank you!

Awesome quality 👏 Fast shipping, great price, would definitely recommend 💯

Super lightweight and compact. The full kit is really convenient for backpacking. Definitely recommend!

Michael T.

Really happy with this purchase 🙂 The difference in packed size and weight compared to my traditional backpacking tent is honestly night and day. Takes up far less space in my pack and feels much lighter on long hikes. Exactly what I was looking for.

IS THE LANSHAN 4-SEASON 2P RIGHT FOR ME?

The Lanshan 4-Season 2P is ideal for backpackers, thru-hikers, and outdoor adventurers looking for a lightweight yet highly protective shelter for mountain trails and changing weather conditions. Its solid inner construction helps reduce cold drafts and provides a warmer feel during cold nights, including high-altitude summer camping. This shelter is especially well suited for hikers who prioritize low pack weight, compact gear, and efficient backcountry performance. If you regularly hike in exposed terrain, variable weather, windy environments, or cooler temperatures, the Lanshan 4-Season 2P offers an excellent balance of ultralight portability and reliable protection.

WHY DOES THE LANSHAN USE SILPOLY?

The Lanshan 4-Season 2P uses silicone-coated polyester (Silpoly) because it offers excellent weather stability while remaining lightweight and compact. Silpoly absorbs less water, dries faster, and maintains better tension during rain and humidity changes. This helps reduce fabric sagging and keeps the shelter more stable in wet mountain conditions.

SHOULD I APPLY THE SEAM SEALER BEFORE MY TRIP?

Yes, absolutely. Seam sealing should be completed in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area (ideally at home or in a garage) before your first outdoor trip. The tent should be fully pitched and properly tensioned to allow the sealant to penetrate the needle holes and fabric junctions effectively. We offer a silicone adhesive in the Lanshan Bundle Kit, with a fine extension nozzle for easier and more accurate seam sealing on narrow tent seams and reinforced areas.

Which Seams Should Be Sealed?

  • Ridgeline seam (top seam): Highest priority, as this is the area most directly exposed to rain and prolonged water contact.
  • Fly side seams: These should also be sealed for optimal waterproof protection.
  • Floor junction seams: Less critical on this model since the floor experiences different pressure conditions, but the corners remain more vulnerable to moisture intrusion.
  • Inner tent seams: No, these seams are not directly exposed to rainwater.

How to Do It:

  1. Set up the tent normally using the stakes and trekking poles.
  2. Keep the fly properly tensioned to expose the seams clearly.
  3. If preferred, you may slightly reposition or partially invert sections of the fly for easier access and better visibility during application.
  4. Apply the sealant carefully and evenly along the exposed seams using the precision applicator tip.

Important: Proper tension is essential during seam sealing. Avoid loose, folded, or wrinkled seams, as this can prevent the sealant from penetrating evenly into the stitching holes and fabric junctions.

Should I avoid the sun?

Direct, harsh UV rays during the curing process can cause the sealer to dry too quickly and become brittle. It can also prematurely wear the fabric’s silicone coating.

Drying Process:

  • Leave the tent fully pitched and properly tensioned for at least 12–24 hours.
  • Do not pack or fold the tent before the sealant has fully cured, as fresh silicone can stick to itself.
  • Check the sealed areas by touch: the sealant should feel flexible and no longer tacky.

Waterproofness Test:

  • Spray water over the treated seams.
  • Check the inside of the tent to ensure no water droplets or seepage are coming through.

Your Lanshan 2 Pro is an excellent ultralight shelter. This simple 1–2 hour preparation will help ensure dry and comfortable nights on the trail for years to come.

WHY ISN’T THE TENT FACTORY SEAM-SEALED?

The Lanshan 4-Season 2P uses silicone-coated ultralight fabrics (Silpoly and Silnylon-compatible materials), which cannot be traditionally factory seam-taped like standard PU-coated tents. Applying seam sealer manually helps preserve the lightweight performance, flexibility, and long-term durability of the fabric while ensuring optimal waterproof protection on critical seams.

This is common practice among many ultralight backpacking shelters. Once properly seam-sealed, the tent delivers excellent weather protection for extended outdoor adventures.

DOES THE TENT PERFORM WELL IN RAIN AND WIND?

Yes. The Lanshan 4-Season 2P is specifically designed for demanding backpacking conditions, including rain, exposed terrain, and changing mountain weather. Its aerodynamic low-profile shape, tensioned guy-out system, and trekking-pole structure help distribute wind forces efficiently. The silicone-coated outer fly provides strong waterproof performance while maintaining low weight for backcountry travel. Proper staking and tensioning are essential for optimal weather resistance.

HOW DO I REDUCE CONDENSATION?

Condensation is a natural phenomenon that can affect any tent in cool, humid, or low-airflow conditions. To minimize condensation inside the Lanshan 2P, choose well-ventilated campsites whenever possible, avoid pitching directly near standing water, and maintain proper airflow through the vestibules and ventilation gaps. Keeping wet gear outside the sleeping area and ensuring the fly is properly tensioned can also help improve internal moisture management.

DOES THE TENT FEEL WARM ENOUGH FOR COLD MOUNTAIN NIGHTS?

Yes. Compared to mesh-heavy 3-season shelters, the Lanshan 4-Season 2P features a solid 15D nylon inner that helps reduce cold drafts and harsh airflow inside the tent. This creates a noticeably warmer and more protected sleeping environment during cold nights, including high-altitude summer camping and shoulder-season conditions. As with all ultralight shelters, warmth will still depend on your sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothing system, and campsite exposure.

WHICH TREKKING POLES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE LANSHAN 2P?

The Lanshan 2P is designed to work with two adjustable trekking poles. For an optimal pitch, the recommended pole height is approximately 125 cm (49.2 in), although slight adjustments may be needed depending on terrain conditions and desired tent tension.

Most standard trekking poles with an adjustable range reaching at least 125 cm will work correctly with the shelter. Telescopic aluminum trekking poles are generally preferred for their reliability, strength, and easy height adjustment in changing outdoor conditions.

For the best stability and pitching experience, we also offer a pair of robust telescopic aluminum trekking poles in the Lashan Bundle Kit. Selected specifically for their adjustable 62–135 cm (24.4–53.1 in) range, durable construction, and trail-proven design, they provide excellent compatibility with the Lanshan 2P while remaining highly reliable for hiking and backpacking on varied terrain.

CAN I USE THE TENT WITHOUT TREKKING POLES?

Yes. While the Lanshan 2P is primarily designed to be pitched with two trekking poles, it can also be used with compatible tent poles or adjustable support poles of similar height. For optimal setup and structural stability, the recommended pole height is approximately 125 cm (49.2 in). We also offer compatible telescopic aluminum trekking poles specifically selected for reliable performance with the Lanshan 2P.

Because the Lanshan 2 Pro is a non-freestanding tent, you can technically use the reinforced webbing loops at the top peaks to suspend the tent using guylines tied to spaced trees. However, we strongly recommend using trekking poles for standard use. Relying on trees restricts your choice of campsite, and tree movement in high winds can compromise the tent’s tension and stability. Suspension should be kept as a clever backup plan or an emergency option!

ARE THE INCLUDED STAKES ENOUGH?

For most standard backpacking conditions, yes — the included stakes are fully functional and sufficient for setting up the tent properly. However, hikers expecting rocky terrain, loose soil, alpine environments, or stronger winds may benefit from upgrading to premium Y-beam stakes for enhanced holding power and improved stability.

Premium Y-beam stakes provide stronger holding power and improved stability in difficult terrain conditions such as loose soil, rocky ground, alpine environments, and windy campsites. Their reinforced triangular profile penetrates the ground efficiently while resisting bending better than many standard stakes. They are also particularly useful for securing optional accessories such as Polycro footprints, tarps, and additional guy-out points. That's why we offer optional premium stakes in the Lanshan Bundle Kit.

DO I NEED A FOOTPRINT?

A footprint is not absolutely required, but it is strongly recommended for long-term protection and improved durability, especially on rocky, abrasive, or wet terrain. A lightweight Polycro footprint helps protect the tent floor from punctures, dirt, moisture, and ground abrasion while adding minimal pack weight. It can also improve campsite cleanliness and extend the lifespan of the tent floor fabric over time. We offer an optional Polycro Footprint in the Lanshan Bundle Kit.

WHAT ARE THE TWO HEAT-SEAL PATCHES INCLUDED WITH THE TENT USED FOR?

These patches are specifically designed for quick repairs on the bottom floor of the tent. They will only bond with the single-silicon fabric used for the tent floor. They cannot be used to repair the main tent body (rainfly), as they will not adhere to the 20D double-silicon fabric.
